Gracey Ripa is a contemporary figurative painter and traveling muralist. She explores expressive portraiture through bold color and layered oil paint, blending femininity, strength, and the influence of the environment.
Born in Southern California, Ripa developed an early connection to warmth, vibrancy, and atmosphere. These elements seep into her paintings. At the age of 17, she received a Gold Key award, with her work exhibited at the Denver Art Museum, alongside earning multiple college scholarships.
Ripa regularly exhibits her work in juried art shows and fairs, with notable appearances including Red Dot Miami and the San Francisco Art Fair.
She currently lives and works on the island of Alameda, where she paints from a cottage surrounded by a floral backyard. The temperate coastal weather lends itself to a grounding environment for sustained studio practice and creative focus.
ARTIST PHILOSOPHY
“When an artist creates, they place a piece of their soul into the work. I hope to make enough work that, when I die, I will have given away my entire soul.”
